As a chiropractor, Dr. Woods has been advising people for many years to avoid sugar, white flour, hydrogenated fats and processed foods. Heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancers, chronic pain, and more have been linked to SAD. With this in mind, Dr. Woods recommends the following staple items for a well-rounded and healthy diet:

  • Free-range grass fed beef, lamb, pork, and poultry
  • Organic seasonal fruits and vegetables
  • Organic beans, seeds, grains, and nuts
  • Raw cheeses
  • Non homogenized (cream on top) dairy products such as yogurt, milk, cream, and sour cream
  • Sprouted grain tortillas, bread, and bread products
  • Cold pressed organic oils (olive, sesame, peanut, coconut, etc.)
  • In Moderation: sweeteners such as raw honey, organic whole cane sugar, and organic blackstrap molasses.
  • Stevia can also be used to sweeten foods & beverages, but it is not a type of sugar.
