Chiropractic Therapies

Our emphasis is on releasing restrictions in the body. Movement is an integral part of life, all body tissues have movement. When those movements are restricted by trauma or lifestyle, the innate healing capacity of the body is compromised. Pain, disability, and ill health are often the result. To release restrictions we use a wide variety of techniques.

We specialize in treating people with many conditions including neck and back pain, TMJ disorders arthritis, migraines and headaches, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, trauma related and post surgical pain, infantile colic, and earaches.

Chiropractic Care and Instrument Adjusting

Chiropractic care helps stimulate healing by correctly aligning structural elements of the body. At Pacific Way , we offer "instrument adjusting": a stress-free alignment technique that's a bit different from traditional chiropractic. Using handheld, specially calibrated and cushioned instruments, our doctors adjust patients gently and precisely. This includes the Activator Method, which allows for consistent  high speed, low-force manipulative therapy. These techniques are particularly effective with young children, the elderly, people in acute pain, and patients who don't like being "cracked" while they're getting adjusted.

The S.O.T. Technique

S.O.T.  stands for Sacro Occipital Technique.

SOT is a chiropractic method that helps your doctor discover the cause of illness, by analyzing the mechanics and neurology of the body. During an SOT treatment, the doctor may use gentle pressure treatment at the base of the skull, along with related techniques to balance a patient's respiratory and cerebrospinal fluid systems. SOT is painless, non-invasive and very effective.

Activator Method

The Activator Method is a gentle, controlled, low-force chiropractic technique. It helps to restore overall spinal balance by analyzing leg length inequality, testing neurological reflexes, and
detecting spinal joint disfunction and/or body mechanics problems. The Activator instrument allows for precise adjustments to the exact area of the body that is causing health problems.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is used to treat a wide range of illnesses such as migraine headaches, chronic neck and back pain, stress, chronic fatigue and other disorders. From the patient's point of view, this soothing therapy involves Dr. Woods placing her fingertips at the base of your skull and pressing gently while you lie on the adjustment table. It's a pleasant technique that brings on a dreamy, relaxed state of mind and body. It also has powerful healing effects. The craniosacral system comprises the membranes and cerebral spinal fluid that protects the brain and spinal cord. Imbalances and restrictions there can cause pain and other health difficulties.

The B.E.S.T. Method

B.E.S.T. stands for Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique.

BEST is an effective energy balancing procedure that has been researched at major universities. It's a gentle technique that helps unlock the body's natural healing ability. This method of chiropractic adjustment is both painless and effective, repositioning out of place vertebrae with virtually no force. Patients lie either face up or face down on the adjustment table for BEST treatments. This procedure can also help patients clear old stored emotional patterns that may be interfering with good health. Doctors use pressure point therapy to stabilize the patient's parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems. The result is updated muscle memory patterns that reinforce lasting health and erase old, unhealthy body patterns.

Laser Therapy

You might notice Dr. Woods carrying around a laser instrument in a holster on her belt. No, she's not about to give a lecture on chiropractic techniques - this low level laser "pointer" is a healing tool. Laser therapy can reduce pain, stimulate healthy tissue and nerve growth, and speed healing. It's been used effectively in cases of high blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, headache and arthritis, among many other conditions.

Microcurrent

Using electricity to heal? Frequency Specific Microcurrent stimulates cellular physiology and growth. This technique uses extremely low voltage current to control pain and promote healing. In one study, patients got relief from chronic pain in less than two minutes with up to two weeks of residual effects. Patients report feeling relaxed and energized after treatment. Microcurrent has been used successfully to treat many ailments including fibromyalgia, stress, diabetes, chronic pain, shingles and Bell's palsy.
